The city of Mechelen without a doubt added a new attraction to its rich heritage. In the Kruidtuin, also named the botanique by locals, there was a beautiful old mill that urgently needed restauration. David, Bart and Andy turned the ancient watermill into an architectural wonder that really captures the ViaVia spirit. A beautiful terrace next to the river Dijle, a wonderful attick and a marvellous historical interior: this Via needs to be on your to-do list!
ViaVia Mechelen can be found on the 'fietsknooppuntennetwerk' (network of bicycle nodes) between nodes 57 and 59. You can also find the Café on the 'Steden- en de Dijlevalleiroute' (cities and valley of the Dijle route).
The beautiful Dijlepad passes by the Café. 300 meters through the park and you'll find yourself in the heart of the city.
ViaVia Mechelen has a central location. A 10 minutes walk brings you to train stations 'Mechelen' and 'Mechelen-Nekkerspoel'.
There's a bus stop right in front of our door, named Zandpoortvest.
There's a spacious parking lot next to the school facilities, at the other side of the street. A 5 minutes walk brings you to the parking garage next to the youth hostel.
