ViaVia Brussels is a meeting place for local people and city visitors with a common interest in travelling and city culture. ViaVia Brussels is situated around its central covered courtyard “MicroMarché”, a cooperative market of young designers, stylists and handicrafts, and “Citizenne”, a permanent education centre focussing on city and interculturality. ViaVia Brussels is a centre of city culture with expositions, concerts, debates and workshops.
ViaVia Brussels is situated in a former industrial building from the end of the 19th century and was part of the Brussels harbour. We are probably only user number three, after a moving company and the glassworks Leys. Via the lorry gateway you find yourself in the glass-covered courtyard where the terrace is open all the time. On the left you can find the ViaVia café in a workshop with high walls and lots of light, i.e. an ideal setting for expositions. Next to the ViaVia café you can see the market hall of “Micro Marché” where young designers show and sell their work. The “Changing Room” is a multifunctional room for meetings, workshops and so on. The offices to the right are occupied by “Cityzenne”, a permanent education centre.
ViaVia Brussels is the ideal base in order to explore Brussels: close to the fashionable shops in Rue Dansaert, next to “Bronks”, the children’s theatre and at a walking distance from cultural places such as KVS, Kaaitheather and Theatre National.
